How to choose the right car seat for your child

Here’s a simple guide to help you choose the right car seat for your child.

Choosing a car seat for your child is one of the most important decisions for their safety. With the i-Size (R129) regulation, the process is easier and safer since it’s based on your child’s height rather than weight, making it simpler to identify the right seat. Here’s a guide on how to choose the appropriate seat according to your child’s age and height.

Some car seats are specifically designed for certain heights and ages, offering a more ergonomic fit within their range of use.

Other seats are more versatile and cover a wider range, allowing one seat to meet all the needs for your child’s travel over time.

15 months to 4 years: Toddler Car Seats

From 15 months (up to around 4 years), your child can use a forward-facing car seat, although it’s recommended to keep them rear-facing for as long as possible for added safety. i-Size car seats for this stage are suitable for children between 85 and 105 cm.

Key Points:

  • Seat sizes: 100-150 cm • 125-150 cm.
  • Booster seats with backrest (100-150 cm) or booster cushions (125-150 cm).
